I think that blogging in another language (English in this case), is very useful for learning, because allowed to use all the knowledge we have and put it in practice, in this way is very easy to see the mistakes that we make, is amazing the difference between that we think we know and the actual knowledge that we have, also is interesting because writing about different subjects we can express ourselves and share our opinion with the rest, because even when I don’t really know the people in this group, I can learn a lot about what they think.

At the beginning I don’t really think it would be fun, but now I think, that blogging is a very fun way to learn and improve our English, also force us to think about different subjects that maybe we don’t have the time to elaborate about. In the first ones post I just suffered trying to write so much in another language, and my English was the same that before I start blogging, but after a while the “suffering” was minimum and I start to look my mistakes some of they just huge, and I start to fix it, so I think I improved a lot my English.

Maybe the blogging system has little disadvantage like it doesn’t improve the oral English but it’s not a problem really because we have another class for that matter, so it’s just a detail, and I think that the blogging idea it’s excellent for improve our English, because it effective, fun and interesting.
So, finally I think all the blogging experience was great and useful, and it’s an exercise that could be use for learn any other language with no problems.

Creativity

I found this talk has a really interesting subject, creativity is going to be a really important matter in the future, the histories he talk are very motivational, and he have a good point, but I also think even when developed arts and creativity is important in all the undeveloped countries or in way to be developed like Chile is a necessity to make other changes firs, because if a good artist is not sure of his future in England in Chile the opportunities reduce to the minimum, the truth is now in Chile being and artist is a risk that not everyone could take, we need to change that first, we need to make theater and dance and paint and all kind of art more popular and rentable before incentive kids to being artist, because if we don’t change the conditions first, it will be just unfair and cruel with kids. In developed countries is a lot more easier to do this because art is not in such a precarious state.
But on the other hand creativity can be improved a lot in school I think, and creativity is important in almost everything we can do, in fact with creativity we can be more closer to be a developed country, in school the teacher often are just too square and they not allowed to the student to use their imagination in their work, so it’s a necessity to change the way we teach to teach.

Psychology in Universidad De Chile

I think that in my area of study (psychology), the skills we need are knowledge of the human mind and his internal job, know a bunch of theories about how we can help another person for solving their problems, of course the knowledge would depend on the specialization that we take, and also I think an intention to help people with their problems, I think we need sympathy for other but not too much because if we put in another people head in a extreme way we can’t help correctly to another. And it’s maybe this last thought I mentioned, one of the most importantly abilities we have to own and it’s inborn.

This university provided me the best teachers we can have, that’s I think is his second best quality, the first in my opinion is the atmosphere, the ideas, the plurality is the best thing that this university can offer, before I pass through 3 other careers but in the Pontificia Universidad Católica, and that’s the reason I’m here, because I didn`t like the absence of respect for other, the people was very classicist, and I have a very hard time in there with a few friends, that think like me, after 3 careers there and see no change I decided to change the university. A lot of people say that the Universidad de Chile it’s not the same and it was classicist too, but in comparison with PUC it’s nothing, and here we can see a much real plurality.

It’s my first year so I can’t tell any course is missing because I don’t know yet the career to well, but in my opinion this university gave us the best preparation for the future that we could have, and also we can’t met practically all kind of people at least more than other places like PUC.

Technology in our Life

I really like technology but only when we see it like a mean and not a objective itself, and when we are not and addict, for example I like internet and I use it everyday but if I can’t, I will not panic, I think technology has to be a help for us and not a trouble. My favorite piece of technology it’s my stereo, I have it since 3 years now, it was a gift from my parents for finishing school, it’s just great, the sound it’s perfect and have a modern look too, when I arrive to Santiago I bring it with me but it’s in boxes and I don’t unboxing it yet.

Before I used everyday but now, I don’t want to, because y used all my time listen music, when I turned on, the music sound just too perfect and I can’t do anything else, I just listen, so it’s a bad idea to used when I have so many things to do for the university,

It’ a little sad not to used it , but I listen music in my mp3 all day but it’s not the same, the power of the music in a good stereo it’s really different.

Also the last few weeks my celphone has been died and at first I think like my life will be harder without it, but to the contrary, I fell really free, and when someone need to call me it call to my sister or to the house phone, so It’s not a problem really, of course I have to buy a new one or repair the old one but for the past 2 weeks I have a really nice time.

Bahia Salada


I have the luck to travel a lot with my family, and that give me the oportunity to visit a lot of different places in our country, one of my favourite places is Bahia Salada, it’s the most beautiful beach I ever know, with a marvellous blue emerald and warmer water, also the white sand make the place like a dream, of course a place like that have also a B-side, the place is far far away to any city, there’s no drinkable water, the most near human placement it’s like 80 kms away, and it’s just a little fishing harbour, and the most annoying problema the wind, the wind appears near to 6 o’clock and blows away everything. So that’s means , if you want to go yo have to bring water and a tent of course, so it’s really far from a confortable place, but it worth all the eforth, I went a couple of times with my uncle the las time was like 3 three years ago, and I stay 1 week, my uncle stay a hole month. A normal day it’s to wake up early like 8 o’ clock have family breakfast , and then I was free to do whatever I want, most of the time I was swimming in the warmer sea, or climbing and falling with my cousin the most high dune in the surroundings after one of the best moment of the day the lunch, was fish or oyster we bought to the fisher, the cheaper and better fish you can buy and in the night the best moment at all we wait to the arise of the moon with the locals in the higher dune, was an spectacular moment in the desert with no lights at all, I have no words to describe the moon, bigger than ever iluminating everything with a blue light, sadly after a few days, my cousin and I have a sunstroke and we have to rest in bed all day and go back to the Santiago.

I really recommend to everyone to go there, and soon, because my ancle go every year and he told me the sad news, that a luxury hotel it’s going to arrive there. So hurry up. Have a nice day (:

Paul Ekman

Was born en 1934 on Washington D.C, and he study psychology at the university of Chicago and New York University. Ekman work on facial expressions, and he has proved that most of facial expressions are universal, and they have a biological origin and not culturally determined like the scientist believes before. That means that a smile means happiness here and everywhere, Paul Ekman prove that with a tribe of Papúa Nueva Guinea, he show different pictures of face with a expression and he discover that all the member of the tribe knew was means this expression, even if he doesn’t know that culture.

A lot of people ridicule his brilliant theory but after years of hard work, he prove that his theory it’s totally truth, and was accepted for all the scientist around the world. Based on this theory he proved also that we can know when someone lie, with just see his facial expression, he make an complex study of microexpression and he become the best liar detector, now he’s so famous that even the FBI and the CIA ask his help in difficult cases , when they need to know if somebody it’s telling the truth. Now we can find a dramatization of his life on the TV show called Lie To Me.

I think it's very importan to learn about this life history, because Paul Ekman even whit his brilliant ideas he was ridcule for other scientist, but he fight, and he work and the proved his point, and I think everyone has to do the same and with efforts reech victory.

Education

Education
Yes good education it’s a right because everyone most have the opportunity to learn, and education help people to have equal opportunities and a better life.
Chile has a bad education in comparison with develop countries like USA or New Zealand; it’s a sad reality but is a truth that we have to understand if we want to improve our country, first we need to solve the problem with the teachers because in public school it’s very difficult to fire a bad teacher because the big debt that the state have with the teachers, also we have to make a more efficient and hard system for teach the teachers, because in this moment the teachers in school aren’t the best, and this can’t continue anymore, the teacher would have to be the best and only the best, and we need to change the public opinion for this job because the teacher are the foundation for a great country, and in this moment being a teacher is just a job, and a job that pays almost nothing.
Another big issue it’s about the huge difference between private school and public schools, I think in this moment we couldn’t have a bigger gap, so this can only improve from now on.
I think have a very lucky personal history because I had the luck to study in a descent school with excellent teachers and also have a great family, and that make a lot more easier the way from school to college, I really wish everyone can have the same opportunity but for now we are really far from that, I really don’t know what are the ideas of the new govern, I hope they gonna take the rights decisions.
